Living with Diabetes

A diagnosis of diabetes can be overwhelming. You have to deal with new medications and/or the probability of daily shots of insulin, constant monitoring of your blood sugar and radical changes in diet. Eating anything containing sugar can disrupt your health and at worst  put you at greater risk of complications in the future. Now you have to re-organize your life around your diabetes. Very often, diabetics don’t want anyone else to know about their condition. It may be a small comfort but, people living with diabetes should know they are not alone.

Our Values

We consider those that use our service as members, not customers.  We see these people as part of a global family connected by one unfortunate common link: Diabetes.  As such, we pledge to keep our members informed and educated about the disease, new medical breakthroughs, products and services, daily maintenance, diet, nutrition awareness and coping skills.  In addition, we want to provide an environment that makes members feel comfortable contacting our team at any time, day or night, to discuss concerns, ask questions, share personal coping strategies or seek support.

The Objectives

1.      To create a user-friendly web site to fill the information and    service void that exists in the diabetic-supply market

2.      To educate those with Diabetes and their caregivers about the benefits of daily treatment and management.

3.      To keep our members informed of any new information including services and products that will help them better manage their disease.

4.      To develop not-for-profit fundraising initiatives as well as participate in all diabetic funding programs, major events and speaking opportunities to increase awareness among young people and their caregivers.

5.      To provide members, clinics, hospitals and foundations with information booklets, brochures and FAQ sheets, free of charge, for personal use and distribution.

6.      Increase awareness at major events and schools, including all programs involved in children that are overweight and diet programs
